    Kurzfassung/Abstract

    This essay deals with the way in which the book of Ben Sira makes references to the biblical Urgeschichte. For this study, not only textual allusions to Gen 1-3 in the Hebrew text fragments are examined but also those in Greek and Syriac versions of Ben Sira. The essay raises the question of how the texts were preceived and came to form the anthropological conception of Ben Sira and whether the different language versions display different emphases in this respect
