Merleau-Ponty : Devaluation and Competence

Kurzfassung/Abstract

It begins with a brief introduction to Merleau-Ponty before moving on to attempt to situate his ideas in relation to the lives of different people and trying to make a link between value and competence. As neoliberalism hides the structural condition it presumes: unemployment; it creates conditions that erode individuals access to the basis of competence and thereby attacks the basis of labour power forcing many on to a terrain of malaise, antipathy and crisis.
